If you love fishing, boating, and camping, then Smith Lake is the place for you! You can fish in any season thanks to the year-round temperate weather. In addition to fishing, boating is a popular activity as well as camping. Many campgrounds around the lake offer amenities like bathrooms and showers, so you don't have to rough it too much while enjoying your time on the water.
When you visit Smith Lake, be sure to bring your boat or kayak with you because there are plenty of places to launch them into the water from land or rent one from a local marina if needed. Once out on the water, enjoy swimming, skiing, or wakeboarding, depending on what kind of boat experience you want.
There are also plenty of places to eat nearby and local attractions like museums and theaters to keep everyone entertained throughout their stay.
The area surrounding the lake is a hot spot for second-home buyers. The location of this recreation reservoir makes it popular among those who live near Birmingham and Huntsville, and other cities in the state.
